"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” ~Matthew 19:14
As a child, we held awe and wonder of creation. Everything was new: the taste of food, the names of colors, the time, and the seasons.
Sadly, as we grow older, we tend to become cynical about life: we are fed up with the cost of living, the fallibility of those in leadership, or the "way the world is heading."
One of the beautiful things about life in Christ is the transformation of our minds from frustration to faith. While we do not regain a child's mind (1 Cor. 13:11); we do regain the faith of a child. The apostles were frustrated the children were "bothering" Jesus. After all, they thought, he had more important things to do than deal with children.
Jesus calls out the misplaced frustration of the apostles. The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the pure in heart, not the rational and reasonable. We, too, can regain the faith of a child if we surrender our hearts and minds to Jesus and choose to grow in His wisdom every day.
Always improve the present moment.
