The Word of His Power

"He upholds the universe by the word of His power" ~Hebrews 1:3

Yesterday was Election Day. Some people may be happy this morning; others may be sad. Some may feel fearful; others may feel hopeful. Regardless of your feelings about the results, the fact is that Jesus upholds the universe. He is sitting "at the right hand of the Majesty on high" (4). That fact should always be at the forefront of our minds. While we pray for the leaders of our state and country, we first and foremost pledge our allegiance to Jesus, who is "the radiance of the glory of God" (3). In doing so, we have the comfort of knowing no matter what goes on in the world, He is Lord of all. Jesus is not impersonal since "he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted" (2:18). In our daily struggles, he can help us through them. I know it is becoming increasingly difficult to remember these things, "therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it" (2:1). My dear friends in Christ, do not drift away and do not worry, rest assured and be strengthened in "the word of his power." Always improve the present moment
